Mary has had a passion for dance for 19 years. Her competitive training began at a young age and continued throughout the collegiate level.
Mary received her formal dance training at Perkins School of The Arts in Norwich, NY. She studied under creative and artistic directors, Amber and Mikey Perkins. It was there, where she fell in love with all styles of dance, including: tap, jazz, ballet, modern, lyrical, and partnering. During her 10 years dancing competitively, Mary traveled around the United States, dancing in regional and national competitions. In the summer of 2012, Mary went on to dance with the Phoenix Project Dance Company, where she continued to become inspired and further her training.
At the collegiate level, Mary was a three-year member of the Syracuse University Dance Team from 2012-2015. The team performed at basketball and football games, as well as competed at the NDA National Collegiate Dance Competition every April. For the 2014-2015 season, Mary was selected as team captain, as well as, voted team MVP. Mary graduated in 2015 with a B.S. in Health and Exercise Science.
The Janet Hershman School of Dance has quickly become a second home to Mary. Through hard work, dedication, and discipline, Mary plans to provide her students with positive and fun love of dance that will last a lifetime.
